Many of the "Tucker Colts" we sell are used by others in various aspects of work and play. Some are destined for ranch work -- branding, sorting, fence work, doctoring, etc. Others go on to be highly competitive contenders in various timed events. They can be found in 4-H, open shows, breed shows, rodeo competitions and futurity events. They truly are a versatile, all around horse, suitable for a long day's work on the ranch, hard and fast competition in the arena or a fun and pleasurable trail ride. Want specifics? Take a look at some of these accomplishments: Junebugs Trinket, daughter of Docs Sugar Tucker, placed in the top 3 in the Harney County Reined Stock Horse Futurity aged classes 3 through 6 while she continued to compete in the rodeo arena as a calf horse, team roping horse and breakaway horse. For the past 4 years she has taken the Rose's to the NPRA and ICA finals. In 2004, she added bull dogging to her list of performance accomplishments, carrying the ICA all around champion to first place in bull dogging and taking Chad Edwards to the State High School Rodeo finals in the bull dogging competition. Tuckers Regards, who is also a successful Harney County Reined Stock Horse Futurity competitor, has been the other part of the team as backup breakaway horse, the other end on the team roping, whether it be heading or healing and the hazing horse in bull dogging. Additionally, he and another former futurity competitor, Docs Sugar San Peppy, are used in Harney County Barrel Club events: in goat tying, barrel racing, pole bending, figure 8 race, steer dobbing, breakaway roping and team roping. These are horses anyone can ride. JW & Kelli are the Harney County High School Rodeo Team advisors. The rodeo team practice at the Rose Equine Facility, LLC indoor and outdoor arenas, so it is only natural to mount a needy participant on a reliable, solid, performance horse. Thus, Junebug, Tommy (Tuckers Regards) and Homer (Docs Sugar San Peppy) have become high school rodeo team teachers. Homer (Docs Sugar San Peppy) is also John Barry Rose's main horse when he buckaroo's with the family. John Barry is 3 years old and Homer takes good care of him!
